Track Youth Theatre presents their annual children's production, 'The Magic Sceptre'. Written by Ed Bailey, directed by TYT alumnus Sophie Jevons, with the help of a team of alumni. This year marks the theatre group's 47th year of productions!

Everything is a-ok in Herenway, while the Queen holds the Magic Sceptre, everyone from princesses to peasants are happy. But when an evil wizard sweeps into town and nicks the sceptre… everyone becomes as tetchy as politicians!

A small group of palace servants, although humble, arm themselves with magic knowledge and set off to recover the sceptre. But a wizard chased is a very dangerous thing…

Will our heroes return triumphant? Will the nobles left behind manage basic chores while they’re gone? And maybe, just maybe, will a peasant ever be allowed to marry a princess…?

A pun-packed original musical for all ages, performed by talented youngsters aged 9-16.

Track Youth Theatre has been teaching the art of stagecraft to young people for over forty years. The group aims to help children, not just with the development of theatrical skills, but with more valuable life skills such as self-esteem, respect for others, and self-confidence in front of groups. Children are not auditioned. Anyone is eligible to join regardless of ability. Most performers in Track Youth Theatre come from the City of Boroondara.
